He holds an MSc in Risk Analysis from King’s College London and is a representative on the BCI's Global Members Council.
Jim Burtles KLJ, CMLJ, Hon. FBCI
Jim Burtles is well-known and respected as a business continuity professional with over 40 years of experience, spread across 4 continents and 23 countries. He received the Freedom of the City of London in 1992, a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2001 and an Honorary Fellowship of the BCI in 2010.
As an IBM systems engineer, back in the 70s and 80s, he was an early pioneer of what was to become our business continuity profession. In 1994 he helped to found the Business Continuity Institute and currently serves on the Global Membership Council. His practical experience includes hands-on recovery work with victims of a number of disastrous events such as bombings, earthquakes, storms and fires.
His published works include ‘Coping with Crisis’, ‘Principles and Practice of Business Continuity’ (now in its 2nd edition) and ‘Emergency Evacuation Planning’.
Ian Clark FBCI
Ian is a highly motivated and experienced Business Continuity Management practitioner with extensive practical experience of the necessary disciplines and roles essential in developing and delivering a holistic Business Continuity Management programme across multiple industry sectors in many countries encompassing diverse cultures.
A member of the Business Continuity Institute, the global organisation for the Business Continuity practitioner, since 1996 and elevated to Fellow of the Institute in 1998. He was an elected Director of the BCI from December 2002 until December 2006 and during his tenure held positions on the Executive Management Board of the Institute and as the Chair of the Standards and Compliance committee. He still actively participates in the development and proofing of International BCM related standards. Ian is the incumbent Chairman of the Global Membership Council of the BCI.
He has supplied consultancy services in many business sectors and at all levels within organisations ranging from multi-national businesses and Governments to small or medium sized organisations. He continually strives to achieve a balance within organisations by aligning operational management of tactical activities to current and future strategic business needs. A proponent of the active integration of Risk Management and Business Continuity Management techniques throughout the organisational supply chain in developing a resilient and balanced continuity programme that is both effective and maintainable that suits the organisation’s operational needs and culture.
He is the Principal of 4Thought Associates; an organisation dedicated to assisting organisations achieve a high level of resilience and Business Continuity Management capability through active partnership at strategic, operational and tactical levels.
Michael Crooymans MBCI
Michael, originally from New Zealand, has been involved with Business Critical systems (Tandem / HP NonStop) since 1985. Michael joined Sogeti in 1989 and by 2003 he had developed himself to the position of BCM Consultant – a subject about which he is very passionate. Michael has helped many companies to implement and/or improve their BCM capability. Due to his IT background he is also occasionally involved in IT Service Continuity assignments.
Michael passed the DRII and CBCI exams with merit in 2005 and 2015 respectively. He has been affiliate member of the BCI since 2011 and is currently completing his MBCI application.
Since presenting at the BCI conference in London in 2012 he has actively been involved with the promotion and development of BCM in the Netherlands. Initially assisting with the BC Café and soon thereafter as a member of the BCI-NL Forum core team. As well as helping set up the BCI BE/NE Chapter he is also the leader of 2 of the work groups and represents the BCI-NL Forum at the NEN BCM standards commission and is involved development of new standards. Michael also represents the BE/NE chapter at the BCI Group Membership Council. In this role he also reviews updates to the GPG, training courses and acts as judge for various BCI awards. He won the 2015 BCI European Award: Continuity and Resilience Professional (Private Sector) and was shortlisted for the Global Award.
Brad Law MBCI
As a Senior Consultant at RiskLogic, Brad has responsibility for delivering resilient business continuity and crisis management solutions to Australia and New Zealand’s leading organisations.
Brad began his career with RiskLogic in 2014 as a Senior Business Continuity Consultant and is responsible for business continuity and incident management. He specialises in Business Continuity Management, Critical Incident Management (CIM4), Process Development (ITIL) and Project Management. At RiskLogic he is best known for his ability as a specialist educator and facilitator of scenarios.
Before joining RiskLogic, Brad was employed in similar roles at companies such as The University of Western Australia, Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of Technology and Gough Gough and Hamer.
He has extensive experience in business continuity, crisis management and also in all aspects of IT management, having provided network administration and consultancy support to the MOD, Lockheed Martin and British Telecom Plc across Europe and Australasia. Brad was also a member of the British Army for 15 years before embarking on his corporate career. Brad is known for his excellent business process management skills, including strategic level planning to industry-wide corporations. He is also a highly skilled communicator and presenter who is able to adapt to all levels of business activities.
Andrew MacLeod MBCI
Andrew MacLeod is an award winning business continuity and crisis management director with eleven years’ experience developed as a director at Needhams 1834, a leading independent provider of business continuity and crisis management consultancy, planning and training services, and previously as a business continuity project manager at Canary Wharf Group and an Army officer. He was the winner of the 2013 BCI Global BCM Newcomer of the Year and the 2013 BCI European BCM Newcomer of the Year, and has published articles on contemporary issues in leading business continuity and emergency planning journals and magazines, including the Journal of Business Continuity & Emergency Planning and Continuity Magazine. Andrew prepared the complete Needhams 1834 business continuity management system which was the first in the UK to receive certification to ISO 22301, and since then has supported more than 7 organisations in preparation for their successful certification to ISO 22301. He is certified as a Member of the Business Continuity Institute (MBCI) and an ISO 22301 Lead Auditor. In 2015 he was elected as a member of the BCI Global Membership Council, having been a committee member of the BCI London Forum since 2014. Additionally he was the Emergency Planning Society Representative on the BSI Technical Committee for the Crisis Management Standard BS11200. Previously Andrew was highly commended in the 2013 CIR Business Continuity Industry Newcomer of the Year and designed and developed the MRC E-Learning Package, which was highly commended in the 2013 CIR Business Continuity Initiative of the Year Category.
Eugene Taylor FBCI
Eugene is an accomplished high-calibre professional and Fellow of the Business Continuity Institute (BCI). With over 20 years of hands-on experience he has developed and improved corporate resilience for a number of organisations in a wide range of market sectors. In addition to Business Continuity, this includes initiatives and planning arrangements for Information Security, IT Control, Crisis, Response and Risk management.He takes a creative and pragmatic approach to policy creation, problem solving, process improvement and stakeholder management. This is evidenced, in part, by the many articles and book chapters he has authored.
Eugene is an experienced exercise facilitator and certified trainer with internationally recognised qualifications in Business Continuity, Information Security, Risk Management, Outsourcing Management, Penetration Testing, Quality and Crisis Management. He has designed specialised training to facilitate workshops, exercises and company specific needs.
Prior to 2014, Eugene represented the UK Institute of Directors on the British Standards Institute technical committee; a member of the International Standards Organisation technical committee responsible for the development of ISO 22301 - the International Business Continuity Management standard.
Eugene moved to Australia in August 2014 and has been providing professional services to a variety of Australian organisations (Business Continuity, Information Security, Audit, Gap Analysis, Training, Exercising and Crisis Management).

R Vaidhyanathan MBCI, (aka RV)
Currently the Director & Head for Global BCM CoE and Client Services at Cognizant Technology Solutions. RV is a well-travelled Risk, Continuity, Information Security & IT specialist with an understanding of global business culture and the practical implementation of management systems. He is well versed with Governance, Risk, Compliance and the implementation of ISO 22301, ISO31000, ISO 27001, and ISO 9001 management systems. He is the BSI’s first Technical Expert for BS25999 and ISO22301 in India.
RV has 28 years of professional experience with last 15 years hands on in Risk Management, Business Continuity and Information Security that includes international exposure in consulting in Industries like IT Services /BPO, Banking Financial Services & Insurance, Retail, manufacturing etc. RV has conducted more than 200 days of trainings and more than 700 hours of Audit on Risk Management and Business Continuity Management, with more focus on the new ISO22301 Societal Security and BCMS
RV started his career as Network Service Engineer with Aurelec Data Processing Systems and Nexus Computers, who were pioneers in LAN then. Prior to joining Cognizant, he was the Sr. VP for Risk Products in BSI Group India, where he spearheaded in certifying various organizations for ISO22301 BCM Certification.
Prior to BSI, he was Vice President – RISK and BCM Practice at Continuity and Resilience, a consulting firm specializing in BCMS Consulting, delivery and management. He worked for Tata Consultancy Services as Global Head for BCM for 3 years prior to CORE & Handled information Security at HCL Technologies before this.
RV’s educational background covers Science, Mathematics & Electronic and Communication engineering. He is an active Member of BCI - UK & DRII – US, India Representative Member of the Global Membership Council of BCI – UK & President of the BCI – India Chapter and the BCI Chennai Forum. Actively coordinates in forming more BCI Forum in other metros across India. He has been one among the judges in BCI India awards 2015 for categories other than IPY Category, which he won in that year.
He has been the finalist in the CIR Magazine Award 2013 for “Industry Personality”, Finalist in the DRI 2012 “Lifetime Achievement Award” , Finalist in the BCI 2012“Industry Personality Award”, Finalist in the BCI 2011 “Industry Personality Award”.
